Science Fair ReCap

1st Annual Science Fair

On Thursday April 21st, New Heights Students presented their Science Fair Projects in our auditorium space to an audience of teachers, peers, community attendees and our esteemed judging panel.

From solar power projects, (not-so) “simple” machines, energy systems and even robots, New Heights students showed us their innovation, hard work and talent.

Things we learned at the talent show:

  • While a gummy bear might get bigger when you soak it in water, it does not mean it will taste better.
  • You can make electricity out of sunlight, pickle juice and even potatoes!
  • Thanks to simple machines, you can feed your dog with the push of a button!
  • (Stoop and scooping is still a manual task however…)
  • Chemicals can react to make some amazing results and messy explosions!

All of our students came home with tokens of appreciation and recognition of their hard work, for the “smarties” that they are!

A big thank you to our Whole School Events team; Miss Katie, Miss Angie and Miss Rebecca, as well as Ms Irwin for organizing such a fantastic event!
