New Heights to Purchase a Building

We are pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Clear Water Academy to purchase Bessborough Hall with possession anticipated to take place in the summer of 2020. The timing is dependent upon Clear Water Academy constructing a new classroom building on the land adjacent to their gym.

Bessborough Hall is located in Currie on the north side of the parade square to the left of our building as you face outwards. The building is essentially move-in ready, with the exception perhaps of the life skills room and preschool space.  Its classrooms are larger than most of our classrooms enabling us to have the ideal number in each class. If we choose, we will be able to expand to 165 students up from the current population of 75 in ECS-Grade 12. Our Home and Community Support offices will also move back under the same roof, which is very important as we continue to integrate their programs with the school program.

Regarding space for the next three years we have worked out a lease agreement that will allow us to remain in Athlone Hall, our current facilities, until our possession date.

This is a significant step for New Heights as we seek to create a community that equips young people to live as contributing members of their community. This purchase will give us the stability we need for decades to come and allow us to continue expanding our programs as we see new opportunities to give our students even more opportunities to succeed in life.
